ME

I'm a self-taught landscape photographer based in the once fiercely fought-over Scottish borderlands.

My photographic influences are Joe Cornish, Colin Prior, Charlie Waite and David Ward and I shoot entirely using the digital medium.

My never-ending quest for the light with which I digitally 'paint' my landscapes has so far taken me to various locations in Northern England and Scotland including the wild Northumberland Coast, the Scottish Hebrides and the English Lake District. I have also travelled through southern Spain, Portugal, the Balearic & Canary Islands, Croatia's Dalmatian Coast, Turkey and the length & breadth of Italy, all in pursuit of light-worthy travel photography.

The black box where the magic happens has been the Canon EOS 5D MKII for several years using Canon EF 16-35L II, EF 24-105L, EF 50 & lenses. I have also used Canon's EOS 20D and 350D Digital SLRs and Sigma's DP1S Large Sensor Compact Camera when travelling. For the last few years, I've been putting the Sigma DP2 Merrill 45MP Large Sensor Compact Camera through its paces which is proving a lightweight marvel to have in the field. Very recently and after much online research I decided to try out Fuji's X-System and I acquired the X100F fixed lens compact with APS-C sensor

While I often undertake some resizing and sharpening during post-processing, any image enhancement is done 'in-camera' and kept to a minimum using the LEE GND filter system and Hoya HD and B+W Circular Polarisers, as well as the B&W 10-Stop Circular ND filter.
